| Diesel Engine Repair Stand (Pedestal) - BCW Model No. DS-6010 |
| The BCW Diesel Engine Stationary Pedestal Stand was
designed as a heavy duty repair stand for rebuilding large diesel engines in a work station format. The stand is
equipped with an air over hydraulics system rated at 15 tons of force for rotating the engine 90 degrees in the
vertical plane. Flanged ball bearings provide the low friction surface for rotating the engine in the vertical
plane. Once the engine is in the vertical position high precision taper bearings allow the engine to be easily
rotated when the detent pin is deactivated. The stand base is 48 inches by 60 inches and the height of the stand is 38 and one half inches with a main shaft centerline of 34 and one half inches form the floor surface. The stand is ruggedly constructed using steel channel and one inch steel plate for the main bearing load members and a high strength box as the pedestal. An air/hydraulic pump provides the energy conversion of air to hydraulic power. 100 psi shop air is all that is required to produce 10,000 psi of hydraulic pressure and 15 tons of force. The unit is designed for fail safe conditions. An air/spring detent pin securely locks the head in any of six positions. The stand is designed such that the spring returns the detent into the index hole and the air pressure retracts the detent pin. Again, a fail/safe feature in case there is a loss of air pressure. |
