The BCW light rail auxiliary response trailer was designed
to provide light rail agencies with an emergency response vehicle able to respond to emergency situations requiring
the rerailing of LRV vehicles. BCW Model LRRST-8901 is designed to be towed either on the highway by conventional
techniques or towed on railroad tracks by an LRV emergency vehicle.
For highway travel, the trailer is equipped with dual wheels to support the heavy load of emergency support equipment
used in rerailing operations. When used for rail operations, hydraulics easily move the steel rail wheels into
position for service. The LRRST-8901 is ruggedly constructed with multiple lock down compartments designed to pull
out with roller bearing surface contact for smooth operation. These compartments are completely enclosed for protection
from weather, theft, and vandalism. The trailer is completely wired for providing power for auxiliary emergency
lighting. This unit provides a vital link for maintaining passenger service and on line operations during emergency
situations. |
